Rural Health Network SCNY (RHN)''s mission is to advance the health and well-being of rural people and communities. The RHN VISTA program, Rural Health Service Corps, will seek to eliminate poverty in the proposed service areas, and expects to benefit program participants, community members, and host organizations. Twelve VISTA members total will contribute to the goals of the project by performing activities such as strategic planning, research, grant writing, training, volunteer management, and coalition building over the course of the next year. Member Duties : The Community Research Liaison VISTA will implement research activities (convening community groups, community networking, and generating reports/media). The Volunteer will be responsible for building positive relationships with community members and organizations in Delaware County. They will also communicate program impact by entering program data, writing white papers on project impact, and creating promotional materials. This project will develop community reports on available resources in rural areas and build a more connected network between organizations in rural Delaware County. This is a hybrid position, with 4 days/week served throughout Delaware County and 1 day/week served from our Binghamton office. A deep understanding of the culture in Delaware County, NY is A MUST for this position. We are looking for applicants who currently live in the area and have already built connections with the community. A valid driver's license and a personal vehicle are required.
