The Parker Police Department is seeking a unique professional, proactive, and customer-service-oriented Community Services Officer to join our team. In this important role, you will work directly with residents, businesses, pet owners, and community partners to promote compliance with Town ordinances related to animal care and control, parking enforcement, and municipal code compliance. Through education, problem-solving, and enforcement efforts, you will help preserve the high quality of life that makes Parker a great place to live, work, and visit.

As our Community Services Officer, you will conduct inspections, respond to calls for service, issue warnings and citations, investigate ordinance violations, assist with animal-related incidents, support non-emergency patrol operations, and educate the public on Town codes and regulations. This position requires sound judgment, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently while handling a variety of situations in a professional and respectful manner.

Qualified candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and at least two (2) years of related experience. An associate degree and certifications in animal control or code enforcement are preferred. A valid Colorado driver's license and safe driving record are required. This position is designated as safety sensitive and is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing in accordance with Town policy.
Under general supervision, this position conducts ordinance enforcement activities related to animal care, parking, and municipal code compliance. The position performs inspections, responds to calls for service, documents violations, supports patrol operations, and educates the public to promote compliance and community safety.
The expected hiring range for this position is dependent upon the level the applicant is hired in at based on experience and certification.
Hiring range is: $25.71/hr - $30.86/hr. The full range goes to $36.00/hr.
Work hours are typically four (4) ten-hour shifts 6am-4pm. Schedule will either be Sunday - Wednesday or Wednesday - Sunday, based on seniority. Nights, weekends and holidays may be required. This position requires on-call rotation work.
You must be able to pass an extensive background check including but not limited to: criminal history search, job suitability exam, credit check and polygraph examination. We will not consider any candidate that has used any THC product or marijuana within the last twelve months.

Minimum Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, certification and/or licensure required. An equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential duties and meet the necessary employment standards may be considered.
Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by two (2) years of related experience.
An associate's degree in public administration, public relations, animal behavior, animal science, criminal justice or related field is preferred.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid Drivers License issued by the State of Colorado for the type of vehicle or equipment operated; safe driving record and a minimum of two (2) years of driving history.
Possession of or ability to obtain State and National Animal Control certifications within eighteen (18) months of hire preferred.
Possession of or ability to obtain one (1) of the following certifications within eighteen (18) months of hire: the Colorado Association of Code Enforcement Officials, the American Association of Code Enforcement, the International Code Council Certified Zoning Officer, or the International Code Council Certified Property Maintenance/Housing Inspector preferred.

Tools & Equipment
Requires use of general office equipment such as computers, printers, telephones, and related software. If required by the position, the employee may operate a personal or Town-owned vehicle.
General and Sensory Requirements
The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls. Duties may also require stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing stairs or ladders, and maintaining balance. The employee must be able to talk and hear effectively, both in person and over the phone, and must be capable of operating a vehicle if required by the role. Vision requirements include consistent near and far visual acuity, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus to allow a broad field of vision.
Heavy Physical Demands
This position requires sustained and demanding physical activity. The employee must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to fifty (50) pounds frequently and more than one hundred (100) pounds occasionally with assistance.
Environment
Physical presence onsite is required. Work is primarily performed in varied indoor and outdoor locations. The noise level is variable depending on activities or location. This position occasionally involves work in inclement weather, including extreme heat, cold, wind, or precipitation. Employees in this position may be exposed to fumes, odors, dust, or airborne particles, work in proximity to moving mechanical parts or machinery, and handle potentially hazardous materials or biological substances.
