Loudoun County Department of Family Services seeks a dedicated and experienced professional for a Community Support Services Supervisor. The successful candidate will join the Public Assistance and Supports Division within the Department of Family Services which envisions better health, safety, and well-being for all. Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Program Manager, the Community Support Services Supervisor oversees the daily operations of staff providing Community Support Services to Loudoun County residents who require information and assistance with basic human needs.
The position provides direct supervision to program staff and ensures services are timely, effective, and compliant with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards. The Community Support Services Supervisor will ensure the effective delivery of needs assessment, resource navigation, referrals, service coordination, and ongoing case management. Responsibilities include assigning and monitoring workloads, reviewing complex cases, supporting staff decision-making, addressing escalated concerns, providing training and performance management, conducting quality assurance, and supporting workflows to promote continuity of service to ensure the client journey moves effectively from initial contact and referral to more intensive case management when necessary.
The Supervisor works with internal and external partners to coordinate services, strengthen community resources, conduct outreach, and address barriers to service delivery. The position also oversees assigned contracts, supports quality assurance and compliance activities, and recommends improvements to program operations and service delivery.
The position may participate in emergency response activities and provide supervisory coverage outside normal business hours when required.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related human services field and four (4) years of related work experience including one (1) year of supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pass pre-employment background checks including criminal, credit, DMV, and CPS/APS checks. Valid driver's license (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification). Complete required County e-learning and MOAT training requirements as directed by department. Complete required supervisory training.

At times, the Department of Family Services staff must respond to community and or emergency needs caused by inclement weather, natural or human-made disasters, etc. Therefore, in these very rare instances, all DFS staff must be available to work beyond the normal workday to include nights, weekends, and holidays, as required to perform functions of the position and/or situation. In addition, you may be required to work at an alternative worksite(s) within the County to perform duties that support the operational needs of the department. Our work hours are typically Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on a hybrid telework schedule - Can you work this schedule? (Please note, for the first 90 days all new hires are expected to report in-person during their training period).
