Company Owned Farm Maintenance Specialist

Job Description Summary:

We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance candidate who has good knowledge of the related field and good communication skills. This role is responsible for day-to-day management of equipment and repairs, facility and utility maintenance, and repairs. The Company-Owned Farm Maintenance Specialist ensures compliance with all safety operating procedures, along with all Federal, state, and local environmental rules and regulations.

Job Description:

• Responsible for facility maintenance, utility equipment, troubleshooting and general repairs and readings
• Aggressively manage all breakdown maintenance requirements to successful conclusions
• Evaluate the effectiveness of equipment functionality and schedule necessary repairs or suggest changes in operating methods in order to improve operations
• Develop, implement, and maintain the department's preventative maintenance procedures
• Oversee work in progress by outside contractors to determine adherence to plans and specifications, including fabricators, welders, and pneumatic and hydraulic expertise
• Track, measure, and document the performance of the maintenance mechanics on an individual basis
• Directly assist with repairs and troubleshooting as needed

Job Qualifications:

• A high school diploma or equivalent (required); with at least5 years of maintenance experience or advanced education in electrical, mechanical,
• 1 year of direct supervisory experience requiring knowledge of refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems as well as general facility repairs
• Previous experience in industrial mechanical maintenance, with strong knowledge and hands-on experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing pneumatic equipment and systems
• Previous experience in at least two of the following areas: mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and instrumentation
• Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives
• Ability to problem-solve and facilitate solutions with limited direction
• Strong planning, organization, customer service, and written/verbal communication skills
• Ability to build strong, trusted working relationships with internal and external business customers and executive-level management
• Basic computer literacy with the ability to do basic statistical analysis
• Ability to communicate factual information and provide direction
• Experience working in a 24/7 operation and ability to work holidays or weekends
• Willingness to work extended hours when necessary
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Previous experience working on farm packers is preferred. (Particularly Sanavo and Prinzen brands)
