Summary

Assist in the implementation and delivery of compensation programs and procedures for the healthcare system. Support Nuvance Healths achievement of desired competitive position to market and supporting system goals and initiatives. Contribute to compensation programs to enhance Nuvances ability to recruit, motivate, and retain talented employees.

Responsibilities

I. Core Functions

  • Assist in the implementation and administration of compensation programs and systems, including merit market and equity analyses across the healthcare system.
  • Participate in compensation surveys.
  • Participate in job description development and job evaluation processes.
  • Support the compensation teams efforts to ensure internal equity, consistent application of policy, and external competitiveness through special projects and data collection.

II. Financial Budget

  • Conduct ad hoc market assessments and provide cost-effective recommendations.

III. Project Management

  • Participate in Total Rewards team initiatives impacting associate compensation as needed.
  • Recommend streamlining and continuous improvement opportunities.

IV. Compliance

  • Ensure accurate reporting and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations regarding compensation.
  • Assist with Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) exemption tests to ensure appropriate status.
  • Keep abreast of legislative changes and anticipate impact on hospital system. Provide recommendations to mitigate risk.

Functional Technical Skills Requirements

  • Mid-level application of Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook.
  • Emerging analytical math and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems, Lawson, Infor, preferred.
  • Solid verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Requires a minimum formal education of a bachelors degree in a related area or equivalent gained through a combination of education and work experience and 2 to 4 years of progressive related experience in the field.
  • Healthcare experience strongly preferred.
  • Courses toward Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification preferred.
  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or other related field preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Manual: Little or no manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity.
  • Occupational: Little or no potential for occupational risk.
  • Physical Effort: Sedentary, light effort. May exert up to 10 lbs. force.
  • Physical Environment: Generally pleasant working conditions.
