Our UPMC Compensation department is seeking a Compensation Insights Analyst to join their team! This full-time, hybrid role offers the flexibility to split your week between working onsite at the US Steel Tower and remotely from home.

The Compensation Insights Analyst provides advanced analytical and financial support for enterprise compensation programs and workforce initiatives. This role designs and delivers reporting, modeling, and cost analyses that inform compensation strategy, workforce planning, and financial sustainability. The analyst partners closely with Compensation, Finance, Human Resources, and business leaders to translate complex data into clear, actionable insight supporting effective decision making.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain reporting, dashboards, and executive level presentations that support forecasting, trending, and analysis of compensation initiatives.

  • Analyze human resources and compensation related datasets, extracting, defining, and validating relevant information to evaluate program performance, outcomes, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Perform advanced statistical and financial analyses including modeling, scenario analysis, and sensitivity testing to assess the financial impact of compensation initiatives and workforce changes.

  • Plan and conduct analytical studies to evaluate the cost of compensation programs, workforce structures, and related business activities, identifying key cost drivers and financial implications.

  • Recommend adjustments, improvement opportunities, and optimization strategies that support responsible compensation management and long term financial sustainability.

  • Provide clear, concise summaries of analytical findings tailored to executive, operational, and technical audiences.

  • Interpret trends, variances, and financial indicators to support strategic planning and leadership decision making.

  • Apply quantitative techniques to support pay structure evaluations, program effectiveness assessments, and long term financial projections.

  • Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions and compensation related financial events in accordance with internal audit requirements and organizational standards.

  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and audit readiness across analyses, reports, and deliverables.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field.

  • Three years of experience in compensation analytics, financial analysis, workforce analytics, or a related analytical discipline.

  • Strong expertise in financial modeling, statistical analysis, and cost analysis techniques.

  • Working knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, and internal audit standards.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and reporting/BI tools; experience with HRIS and compensation systems preferred.

  • Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, executive ready insights.

  • Strong consultative and communication skills with the ability to influence across functions.
