Role Description
The Completion Planning Lead is responsible for leading and directing the planning team supporting all aircraft completion departments, including Avionics, Interior Installation, Lining, Structures, and Mechanical Systems. This role ensures alignment between departmental planning activities, the master production schedule, and overall aircraft completion milestones. The Completion Planning Lead coordinates planning resources, manages Planning Support Requests (PSRs), and ensures the timely preparation of complete and accurate production kits that support efficient completion operations.
Essential Job Functions
· Lead, mentor, and coordinate the activities of the completion planning team supporting multiple installation and systems departments to ensure effective task scheduling, prioritization, and resource allocation.
· Collaborate closely with the Master Scheduler to align departmental completion plans with the overall slot plan, aircraft completion schedule, and key project milestones.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for Planning Support Requests (PSRs), ensuring requests are reviewed, prioritized, and resolved in a timely and accurate manner.
· Oversee the preparation and completion of production kits, ensuring all required materials, engineering documentation, work instructions, and resources are available prior to the start of completion tasks.
· Develop and maintain planning processes, tools, and performance metrics that improve scheduling accuracy, production visibility, and operational efficiency.
· Monitor progress and proactively identify potential scheduling conflicts, bottlenecks, or resource constraints within completion workflows.
· Coordinate closely with department managers, engineering teams, program management, and production leadership to ensure seamless communication and execution of project deliverables.
· Support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives within the planning function.
· Generate regular reports on planning performance, resource utilization, PSR status, and production kit readiness for management review.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, aviation management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Minimum 5+ years of experience in aircraft completions, aviation manufacturing, or production planning environments.
· Demonstrated experience coordinating or supporting complex aircraft modification or completion programs.
· Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical documentation, and aircraft modification instructions.
· Strong technical problem-solving and decision-making capabilities within complex aviation production environments.
Required Skills and Abilities
· Proven experience in aircraft completion or manufacturing planning within complex, multi-department environments.
· Strong leadership and team coordination skills with experience guiding planning teams or cross-functional groups.
· Demonstrated proficiency with production scheduling tools, ERP systems, and planning software.
· Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing production demands in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong analytical skills related to production planning, scheduling, and workflow optimization.
· Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies preferred.

This position is based in an aircraft hangar environment and may involve:
· Exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions
· Loud noise levels
· Use of heavy machinery and specialized tools
· Potential contact with chemicals or hazardous materials
· Working in confined aircraft interior spaces
