Collins Engineers, Inc. is seeking a self-motivated Complex Bridge Design Specialist to be an integral part of our team in Denver, Colorado; Salt Lake City, Utah; OR Chicago, IL. This role will be responsible for leading and managing the bridge designs for a variety of infrastructure projects throughout the Western United States. This is not your typical structural engineering assignment. We are seeking an engineer to join a once-in-a-career project involving the inspection, modeling, and structural analysis of a landmark suspension bridge supporting a natural gas pipeline in the Southwestern United States. The project will require advanced structural modeling and evaluation of existing and future loading scenarios. You will help assess the feasibility of adding inspection access walkways and additional pipeline capacity to a critical piece of energy infrastructure. Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participate, lead, and review designs for a variety of bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects, assuming responsibility for design plans and calculations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team. Must have good communication skills and a solutions-based approach.
• Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of bridge design projects, from concept to construction, while ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, provide design recommendations, and address any concerns or questions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Supervise staff as necessary to complete assignments.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering; master's degree preferred.
• Professional engineer (P.E.) license is required; structural engineer (S.E.) certification preferred.
• At least 10+ years of experience in bridge design, including 2 years at the Project Manager/EOR level.
• Experience working with DOTs and/or municipalities.
• Proven experience with AASHTO LRFD bridge design and DOT design guidelines.
• Proficiency in industry-standard structural analysis and bridge design software.
• Demonstrated success in managing preliminary and final design, preparation of construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates, as well as project scheduling and subcontractor management.
