    Position Summary: The Compliance Analyst I is an entry-level position within the Compliance Department responsible for supporting second-line compliance activities under the Bank's Compliance Management System ("CMS"). This position assists with assigned quality assurance reviews, compliance monitoring activities, documentation, data collection, issue tracking support, and reporting activities as directed by Compliance Department management. The Compliance Analyst I may support reviews across consumer compliance areas, including, but not limited to HMDA, CRA, Deposit Compliance, Lending Compliance, complaints, marketing, disclosures, procedures, and other areas subject to compliance oversight.

    The Compliance Analyst I is expected to identify, document, and escalate potential compliance concerns, including potential unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts or practices ("UDAAP") concerns, observed during assigned reviews, monitoring activities, quality assurance testing, consumer complaint review support, or other compliance-related work. This role supports the Bank's overall CMS by helping ensure that assigned review activities are completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with Compliance Department standards.

    Essential Functions

    Compliance Monitoring and Quality Assurance Support

    • Perform assigned quality assurance reviews, compliance monitoring tasks, and data validation activities under the direction of Compliance Department management.
    • Review assigned documentation, system data, disclosures, procedures, reports, complaints, or other materials to support compliance with applicable federal and state consumer protection laws and regulations.
    • Document review results, observations, exceptions, and supporting workpapers in accordance with Compliance Department standards.
    • Assist with tracking assigned compliance findings, corrective actions, and issue remediation activities.
    • Support the timely completion of assigned compliance reviews within the CMS.

    CMS Support

    • Assist with the collection, organization, and maintenance of documentation supporting CMS activities, including monitoring, testing, risk assessments, reporting, issue tracking, and examination or audit requests.
    • Support compliance reporting by gathering data, compiling results, and preparing draft summaries or supporting materials for review by more senior Compliance personnel.
    • Assist with maintaining accurate records of assigned compliance activities, including workpapers, review evidence, and issue follow-up documentation.
    • Attend compliance training and maintain general knowledge of applicable consumer compliance requirements.

    UDAAP Support

    • Identify and escalate potential UDAAP risks or concerns observed during assigned reviews, quality assurance activities, complaint reviews, monitoring activities, or other compliance work.
    • Review assigned consumer-facing materials, disclosures, complaints, procedures, scripts, or operational practices for potential concerns involving fairness, transparency, accuracy, consumer understanding, or consumer harm.
    • Document potential UDAAP observations in accordance with Compliance Department standards and escalate concerns to appropriate Compliance Department leadership.
    • Support follow-up activities related to potential UDAAP issues, including documentation, evidence gathering, and status tracking.

    Business Line and Department Support

    • Communicate professionally with business line partners to obtain documentation, clarify review items, and support completion of assigned compliance activities.
    • Assist Compliance Analysts, Senior Compliance Officers, and Compliance Department leadership with reviews, projects, audits, examinations, and regulatory inquiries.
    • Maintain compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, Bank policies, and Compliance Department procedures.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Marginal Functions

    • Maintain knowledge of federal consumer compliance banking laws, regulations, regulatory guidance and best practices for evaluating the impact on compliance risk policies, programs, procedures, controls, business and operational units and systems.
    • Support regulatory compliance data collection assurance activities, with a focus on the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act.
    • Interact with business and operational management to support implementation of required changes in processes and procedures.
    • Participate in or support assigned IT projects impacted by compliance requirements.
    • Support the fulfillment of HMDA requests for compliance reviews, audits, regulatory examinations or inquiries.
    • Maintain compliance with and adhere to all state and federal regulations and bank policies and procedures, including, but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, FACT ACT, Community Reinvestment Act, and EEO/AA/Fair Employment Practices.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Educational & Experience Requirements

    • High School diploma or equivalent work experience; associate's or bachelors degree preferred.
    • Prior banking, audit, quality assurance, operations, risk management, or compliance experience preferred but not required.
    • Basic knowledge of consumer compliance regulations and banking operations preferred.
    • Willingness and ability to develop knowledge of the Bank's CMS, applicable consumer protection laws, and UDAAP risk management expectations.
    • CCBCO CRCM, or similar compliance certification preferred but not required.

    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Proficient in data management and reporting tools such as Excel, RiskExec, and database systems.
    • Effective communication and people skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a demanding environment.

    Physical Demands

    In terms of an 8-hour workday, "occasional" equals 1% to 33%, "frequent" equals 34% to 66%, and "continuous" equals 67% to 100%. However, some duties are performed monthly, annually, or sporadically throughout the year and are essential functions.
