Compliance LeadBe the compliance lead on high-profile construction projects. Build out a new compliance department with a fast growing general contractor.About Our ClientOur client is a highly respected construction organization known for delivering complex projects through collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence. The company fosters a team-oriented culture where employees are empowered to make meaningful contributions while building long-term careers.Job DescriptionAct as the organization's primary compliance resource, advising project teams, leadership, subcontractors, and clients on regulatory and contract compliance matters.Lead compliance efforts related to Certified Business Enterprise (CBE) requirements and participation goals.Monitor project compliance by tracking subcontractor participation, contract spend, and maintaining required documentation.Review certified payroll submissions to ensure compliance with Davis-Bacon and applicable workforce regulations.Support projects receiving government funding by ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local compliance requirements.Communicate prevailing wage requirements and payroll obligations to subcontractors and project partners.Assist with identifying, recruiting, and onboarding qualified subcontractors to support project needs.Oversee subcontractor prequalification processes, ensuring accurate documentation and timely completion within compliance management systems.Maintain detailed compliance records to support project startup, contractor onboarding, and ongoing risk management initiatives.Identify compliance deficiencies and partner with stakeholders to implement corrective actions.Stay current on changing industry regulations and employment compliance requirements.Proactively resolve compliance challenges while upholding the highest ethical and professional standards.The Successful ApplicantBachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.Minimum of 2 years of construction industry compliance experience.Prior experience working with D.C. Department of Employment Services (DOES) programs and requirements.Strong understanding of Davis-Bacon wage regulations and certified payroll compliance.Knowledge of affirmative action, equal employment opportunity, and workforce compliance regulations.Ability to interpret contracts, policies, regulations, and compliance documentation.Experience managing subcontractor prequalification programs and compliance workflows.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and compliance tracking systems.Experience with COMPASS, Procore, or comparable construction management platforms preferredWhat's on OfferOpportunity to become a recognized compliance expert within a respected construction organization.High-impact role with direct visibility to executive leadership and project teams.Exposure to large-scale, complex projects with meaningful regulatory responsibility.Collaborative culture that values initiative, ownership, and professional growth.Competitive compensation package, strong benefits, and retirement savings program.
