Overview Zip is looking for a Compliance & Risk Testing Manager to join our Compliance & Risk organization and help strengthen our second line oversight capabilities across our bank partner compliance programs and internal control environment. This role will play a critical part in assessing the effectiveness of controls, identifying gaps and emerging risks, and helping drive a strong culture of compliance and accountability across the business.You will partner closely with Compliance, Risk, Product, Operations, Legal, and business stakeholders to execute testing activities that evaluate adherence to regulatory obligations, bank partner requirements, and internal policies and procedures. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced and highly regulated environments, has strong analytical and investigative capabilities, and brings a proactive mindset toward continuous improvement and scalable risk management practices.Our Compliance & Risk team operates as a strategic partner to the business, enabling sustainable growth while maintaining strong governance and customer trust. We are looking for someone who combines deep testing and controls expertise with curiosity, collaboration, and operational rigor.Responsibilities Lead and execute second line compliance and controls testing activities across key business processes and regulatory obligationsAssess the design and operational effectiveness of controls tied to bank partner requirements, regulatory expectations, and internal policiesIdentify control gaps, compliance risks, and process weaknesses and provide actionable recommendations for remediationPartner cross-functionally with Compliance, Risk, Product, Operations, Legal, and business teams to validate corrective actions and strengthen controlsSupport the development and enhancement of risk-based testing methodologies, testing scripts, and reporting frameworksAnalyze testing results, identify trends and root causes, and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders and leadershipMonitor remediation activities and validate closure of identified issues and action plansContribute to ongoing governance initiatives that improve risk visibility, operational discipline, and compliance maturityLeverage data, reporting tools, and emerging technologies including AI-enabled analysis tools to improve testing efficiency, monitoring, and issue identificationHelp foster a strong risk and compliance culture aligned with Zip's values of Customer First, Own It, Stronger Together, and Change the GameWhat You'll Bring To The Team 5-7 years of experience in compliance testing, controls testing, internal audit, risk management, or second line oversight within fintech, banking, payments, lending, or other regulated financial services environmentsStrong understanding of compliance risk management frameworks, controls testing methodologies, and regulatory oversight practicesExperience evaluating operational and compliance controls tied to bank partner oversight requirementsDemonstrated ability to identify control weaknesses, assess root causes, and drive remediation accountability across stakeholdersExperience working cross-functionally in fast-paced and evolving environments with multiple priorities and stakeholdersStrong analytical and investigative skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear findings and recommendationsExperience using data analysis, reporting, workflow, or GRC tools to support testing execution and issue managementFamiliarity with AI-enabled tools, automation capabilities, or data-driven testing approaches and the ability to apply technology thoughtfully within compliance and risk workflowsStrong written communication skills with experience developing testing reports, issue summaries, and executive-ready documentationBachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Accounting, or a related field preferredWhat You'll Get In Return Flexible working cultureIncentive programsUnlimited PTOGenerous paid parental leaveLeading family support policiesCompany-sponsored 401k matchLearning and wellness subscription stipendBeautiful Union Square office with a casual dress codeIndustry-leading, employer-sponsored insurance for you and your dependents, with several 100% Zip-covered choices availableZip is committed to a straightforward and transparent pay structure. The actual base salary will be determined by various individualized factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, location, internal equity, as well as other objective business considerations.The annual base Pay Range for this position is $92,000 - $125,000. This range reflects our US national compensation band (USN).
