Drive compliance through data. Shape the future of global trade
Mission
Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations (19 CFR), HTSUS, ECCN, EAR, ITAR, country of origin requirements, and free trade agreements.
Perform accurate tariff (HTS) and ECCN classifications for aviation aftermarket parts.
Act as the primary liaison with customs brokers and third-party logistics providers to ensure timely customs clearance.
Utilize SQL, Skywise (Palantir), and Power BI to analyze supply chain data and identify compliance risks, cost-saving opportunities, and duty drawbacks.
Build and maintain Power BI dashboards to monitor compliance KPIs, customs entry accuracy, and operational performance.
Develop workflow automations using VBA and other scripting tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.
Conduct internal compliance audits to identify discrepancies and prevent regulatory penalties.
Collaborate with logistics, engineering, and cross-functional teams to maintain data integrity across systems.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and strategic trade compliance projects.
Maintain a strong commitment to ethical business practices and regulatory compliance.
Profile
As a Compliance Solutions Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring U.S. import and export compliance while leveraging data analytics and automation to improve trade compliance processes. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, working with data, and ensuring regulatory compliance in a fast-paced aerospace environment.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
4+ years of experience in U.S. import compliance, import operations, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of:
U.S. Customs Regulations (19 CFR)
HTSUS classification
ECCN
EAR
ITAR
Country of Origin regulations
Free Trade Agreements
Experience using Microsoft Power BI for reporting, dashboards, and data visualization.
Strong analytical and investigative skills with the ability to identify data anomalies and compliance risks.
Ability to interpret aircraft engineering drawings and maintenance documentation for trade classification purposes.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in International Trade, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
2+ years of tariff classification experience.
Experience with Skywise (Palantir), SAP GTS, or similar global trade software.
Knowledge of C-TPAT, ISA, or other voluntary trade compliance programs.
Professional certifications such as:
Certified Customs Specialist (CCS)
Master Customs Specialist (MCS)
U.S. Customs Broker License
Additional Requirements
Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
Ability to work on-site in Herndon, VA.
