    Job Title: Compliance Specialist
    Location: Lansing, MI 
    Job Type: Full-Time | Non-Exempt
    Department: Compliance
    Reports To: Director of Compliance

    Join a mission-driven organization that provides quality housing while ensuring regulatory compliance. We're looking for a detail-oriented Compliance Specialist to support our team in maintaining tenant compliance with HUD, Tax Credit, and Rural Development programs.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Review and process tenant applications and certifications
    • Calculate income and determine eligibility under program rules
    • Maintain accurate tenant account ledgers and billing
    • Ensure timely and accurate filing of HUD vouchers and USDA project worksheets
    • Monitor and report compliance issues to supervisors
    • Collaborate with property managers and area directors regarding tenant approvals and move-ins
    • Prepare files for audits and agency reviews
    Qualifications:
    • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
    • Strong understanding of HUD, Tax Credit, and Rural Development compliance
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
    • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills
    • Prior experience with tenant certifications and compliance processes preferred
