Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour

Position Summary

American Indian Health & Services (AIHS) is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Compliance Specialist to support credentialing, privileging, provider enrollment, compliance monitoring, audits, staff readiness, training documentation, and regulatory compliance activities. This position plays an important role in helping the organization maintain compliance with healthcare, accreditation, payer, and grant requirements while supporting organizational readiness for surveys, audits, and regulatory reviews.

The ideal candidate enjoys managing complex documentation, tracking deadlines, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating across departments to support quality healthcare operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate provider credentialing, privileging, recredentialing, and enrollment activities.
• Track onboarding compliance requirements, including fit-for-work clearance, immunizations, screenings, certifications, and other employment documentation.
• Support compliance audits, documentation reviews, billing audits, and corrective action tracking.
• Maintain compliance records, policy controls, training documentation, and audit logs.
• Support HIPAA compliance activities and privacy-related documentation.
• Assist with HRSA, AAAHC, payer, grant, and other regulatory compliance requirements.
• Track staff training, drills, after-action reports, and compliance deadlines.
• Maintain board-related compliance documentation and reporting logs.
• Prepare compliance reports, dashboards, reminders, and summaries for management review.
• Collaborate with leadership and department managers to support organizational compliance initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information.
• Experience in healthcare administration, compliance, credentialing, quality improvement, auditing, or a related field preferred.

Preferred

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, Compliance, Health Information Management, or a related field.
• Experience in an FQHC, community health center, tribal health program, outpatient clinic, or nonprofit healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of HRSA, AAAHC, Medi-Cal, Medicare, provider enrollment, credentialing, and healthcare compliance requirements.
• Compliance, credentialing, coding, or healthcare audit-related training or certification.
