QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-focused, comfortable with compliance requirements, and able to communicate clearly with residents, team members, and outside partners.

 

Requirements:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Recertification Specialist, Compliance Specialist, or similar affordable housing compliance role
  • COS certification required
  • Strong understanding of affordable housing compliance and multifamily property management practices
  • Strong math skills for income, asset, and rent calculations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills and a resident-focused approach
  • Ability to stay organized, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable using Windows-based software and property management systems
  • Reliable transportation
  • Availability to work occasional evenings or weekends for resident events

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with Yardi property management software
  • General accounting or budgeting experience
  • Leasing or outreach experience in a multifamily housing environment
RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will help ensure the community stays compliant with affordable housing requirements while also supporting the day-to-day resident experience.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage housing compliance requirements for the community
  • Complete income, asset, and rent calculations accurately
  • Conduct file reviews and maintain required documentation
  • Coordinate with the property management team to maintain compliance standards
  • Support recertifications, file updates, and resident documentation
  • Respond to resident and prospect inquiries in both English and Spanish
  • Greet and assist current and prospective residents with professionalism and care
  • Help with property tours and showcase apartment features and community amenities as needed
  • Maintain accurate resident and prospect records
  • Support resident retention through excellent follow-up and customer service
  • Assist with marketing, outreach, community events, and day-to-day property operations
