Title: Component Welder
Shift: Multiple Shift Options Available (1st Shift, 2nd Shift, Weekend Shift)
Salary: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour, plus benefits; exact compensation is dependent on experience
Component Welder Role: Our client is seeking an experienced tradesman to handle high-integrity welding and metal fabrication work for large complex projects in the shop. This role exists to interpret specialized blueprints, execute structural welds across varying material thicknesses, perform dimensional quality checks, and prep metal components to support critical heavy fabrication programs.
Component Welder Responsibilities:
Put metal parts together using FCAW and GMAW Spray Transfer processes to create finished heavy structural assemblies
Use framing squares, speed squares, combo squares, center punches, saws, and grinders to fit parts exactly to drawing specifications
Receive, read, and accurately interpret instructions, prints, sketches, weld symbols, and technical work orders
Handle, measure, cut, layout, position, align, fit, and weld structural items in the proper location across varying material thicknesses
Perform thorough dimensional and visual quality inspections on fabricated parts using precision tools to ensure adherence to strict standards
Partner directly with Operations and Weld Engineering teams to execute specialized and challenging fabrication projects
Burn, cope, bevel, and cut materials using oxy-fuel torches, hand plasma cutters, grinding, and sanding equipment
Follow all established welding procedures, quality management requirements, safety compliance guidelines, and lean manufacturing initiatives
About You:
Possess hands-on structural welding experience working with Carbon, Stainless, or High-Alloy Steels
Demonstrate proven proficiency in Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) Spray Transfer methods
Maintain practical experience joining structural members across varying material thicknesses, specifically thick-to-thin joints
Exhibit strong blueprint reading skills with the ability to decipher complex technical drawings and welding symbols
Demonstrate high mechanical aptitude and hands-on skill operating material preparation tools like grinders, torches, and plasma cutters
Hold a High School Diploma or equivalent credential
Maintain alignment with core shop values centered on personal accountability, teamwork, quality craftsmanship, and continuous trade development
