PGS Worldwide is seeking a Component Engineer in Arlington, TX, for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. In this role, you will help ensure the quality and performance of EEE (Electrical, Electronic, and Electro-Mechanical) components used on complex weapon systems, supporting LTIAMD and PAC-3 programs. You’ll focus on electrical component specifications, military standards, performance specifications, and design assurance activities to support smooth transitions from development to production.
Required Skills
Active Secret clearance (required to start)
BS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience/combined education
Experience in electrical component failure analysis
Strong problem-solving skills, including Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Planning
Experience in microelectronics fabrication and test (or equivalent)
Ability to develop and apply quality test and inspection methods
Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts to develop/review QE processes and metrics
Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and product/performance specifications
Ability to analyze and resolve process issues from basic to very complex
Effective interpersonal, collaboration, and team-building skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Access)
Strong communication skills (written, oral, listening, presentation, technical writing)
Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with Military Standards 202, 883, and 750
Familiarity with MIL-PRF 38534, 38535, 19500, and 55342
Familiarity with components such as ICs, discrete semiconductors, resistors, capacitors, inductors, PWB, and PWB assembly processing
Basic understanding of audit techniques
Lean/Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, ASQ CQE, and/or CQIA
SAP experience (QNOTES, etc.)
Advanced AS9100 interpretation/application skills
Experience with Product Development Process (PDP)
Material Review Board (MRB) experience
Machine shop or electronics manufacturing inspection experience
Production Parts Approval Process (PPAP) experience
What You’ll Do
Ensure quality and compliance of EEE components through evaluation of design assurance activities
Support production transition efforts by applying manufacturing quality requirements and process methodologies
Help prevent impacts to production velocity and quality during development-to-production transitions
Evaluate and resolve obstacles that could affect successful transition at the component, sub-assembly, and final assembly levels
Review technical data and specifications to support quality engineering processes and performance metrics
Work Schedule / Shift
4x10 schedule: Monday–Thursday (4 ten-hour days)
Telework expected less than 50%; in-office Tuesday–Thursday
