The Composite Technician (Level 3) is a high-level expert responsible for producing tight-tolerance, high-performance composite structures for aerospace, space systems, defense, missile systems, UAV platforms, or advanced industrial applications. This senior-level role is suited for a highly skilled professional with extensive hands-on experience in composite fabrication and bonded assembly for aerospace structures. The ideal candidate demonstrates technical excellence, precision, and leadershipmentoring junior technicians while collaborating closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to achieve world-class results.
Responsibilities:-
Perform advanced composite fabrication and assembly operations, including lay-up, bonding, trimming, drilling, routing, sanding, and finishing of complex components.

Read, interpret, and follow detailed work instructions, blueprints, customer drawings, and material specifications.

Prepare, maintain, and condition molds and tools for production.

Cut and kit composite materials using templates or automated systems (e.g., Gerber Cutter).

Operate autoclaves, ovens, and other curing equipment to complete bond/cure cycles.

Execute complex wet lay-up, adhesive bonding, vacuum bagging, and demolding operations.

Install aerospace hardware and perform precision fitting to meet close tolerance requirements.

Safely operate material handling and precision measurement tools (e.g., forklifts, cranes, torque wrenches, micrometers).

Provide hands-on guidance and mentorship to Level I and II technicians, promoting teamwork, quality, and continuous improvement.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area consistent with company and industry safety standards.

Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of composite materials, resin systems, adhesives, and curing techniques used in aerospace applications.
Qualifications:-
High school diploma or equivalent required.

57 years of experience in aerospace composite fabrication, lay-up, and bonded assembly required.

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance as required by assigned programs.

Ability to read and interpret complex aerospace drawings, 3D models, and manufacturing specifications.

Expert-level knowledge of composite materials (e.g., carbon fiber, fiberglass, prepreg) and fabrication techniques.

Strong understanding of aerospace quality standards (AS9100, NADCAP) and composite inspection methods.

Experience with autoclave, oven cure, and out-of-autoclave processes.

Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills; able to collaborate effectively with engineers, quality, and management personnel.

High attention to detail, organizational ability, and capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Strong awareness of FOD (Foreign Object Debris) prevention and adherence to cleanroom or controlled-area protocols.
