Composites Technician

Role Description The Composites Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Jacksonboro, SC. This position is responsible for hands-on fabrication and assembly of composite parts, including preparing materials, laying up fiberglass and other composite materials, and operating tools and equipment according to work instructions and engineering specifications. Daily tasks include building and maintaining plugs and molds, trimming and finishing components, performing quality checks, and documenting work to meet project and industry standards. The role involves reading and interpreting technical drawings, collaborating with engineering and production teams, following safety protocols, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The technician will support continuous improvement of work processes and may assist with prototype builds, training, and troubleshooting production issues.

• Hands-on composite fabrication skills, including layup, vacuum bagging, and curing processes.

• Experience working with molds, plugs, and prototype builds in all composites industries.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work orders, and engineering specifications.

• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment used in composite manufacturing.

• Understanding of quality control practices, inspection methods, and basic measurement tools.
• \n
• Knowledge of workplace safety standards, PPE use, and safe handling of resins and chemicals.

• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to producing high-quality work.

• Ability to work on-site, stand for extended periods, lift materials, and perform repetitive tasks as needed.

• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with engineering, production, and training teams.

• Previous experience in composites is preferred.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certifications in composites or manufacturing are a plus.
