SURESTAFF is hiring a Compounder/Batch Mixer for a large client in South Holland, IL. The Compounder/Batch Mixer is responsible for weighing chemicals and the chemical blending of batches per recipe in accordance with all applicable standard operating procedures while properly documenting all activities for batching records.

Available shifts include: 12:00pm-9:00am or 4:00am-1:00pm Monday-Friday
Responsibilities of the Compounder/Batch Mixer:
- Pre-weighing materials for batching
- Precise following of batch recipe and chemical blending instructions from batch record (within set parameters)
- Obtains in-process batching samples and delivers to quality control lab for testing
- Accurate documentation of batching activities including temperature, mixing speeds, time of additions, weights, batch codes, dates, observations of batch, etc.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of raw materials
- Take direction from QC/Chemist on rework/reprocessing for non-conforming products as required
- Perform visual quality checks of raw materials, identify discrepancies and/or adverse chemical reactions and initiate resolutions
- Cleans and sanitizes tanks, piping, pumps, filling lines and other batching related equipment
- Perform calibration and maintenance checks on all compounding equipment and vessels and report malfunctions or issues to management
- Assist with production line setup and operation of equipment
- Manage the placement and inventory of bulk raw materials, components and other warehouse organizational needs
- Assist with documentation, logistics and storage of incoming bulk materials
- Maintain accurate inventory records of bulk raw materials
- Maintain clean and sanitary compounding area
- Performs all work in a manner that is consistent with company’s quality systems and safety regulations
- Follows, promotes and enforces company safety and environmental policies, practices and procedures
Required Qualifications of the Compounder/Batch Mixer:
- High school diploma/GED equivalent with proficiency in math and reading comprehension
- Able to work during first shift and weekends as needed
- Minimum 5 years proven experience working as a compounder in chemical processing/manufacturing (preferably in cosmetics/personal care)
- Familiarity with raw materials and chemical blending reactions
- Ability to work independently and in small teams
- Ability to adapt to rotating assignments with a positive attitude and results
- Strong problem solving, analytical methods and technical skills
- Good understanding of GMPs and OSHA safety requirements
- BS degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration, or similar a plus
- Comfortable lifting up to 80 lbs.
