Job Title: Compounding Pharmacy Technician
Pay: $22-$30/hr
Hours: Monday - Friday, standard business hours
Start Date: ASAP
The Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician is responsible for preparing sterile medications in compliance with all applicable regulations and internal standard operating procedures (SOPs). This role ensures the safe, accurate, and timely compounding of sterile dosage forms while maintaining a cleanroom environment and up-to-date certifications. The Sterile Technician also rotates to cover non-sterile dosage forms as needed as determined by the Lab Manager.
What You'll Do
As a Compounding Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for
- Sterile & Non-Sterile Compounding: Compound sterile and non-sterile preparations (injections, ophthalmics, creams, capsules, suspensions, troches) per USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards, using proper equipment, techniques, and PPE.
- Quality & Compliance: Maintain batch records, compounding logs, and equipment calibration; monitor environmental conditions and support sterility testing to ensure quality standards.
- Inventory & Cleanroom Management: Manage supply levels, remove expired/recalled products, and maintain cleanroom per daily/weekly protocols, including deep cleans.
- Operations & Team Collaboration: Meet productivity and turnaround goals, manage rush orders, communicate with patients on delays, and collaborate with pharmacists/techs on accurate compounding.
What You'll Bring
The ideal candidate for this role will have
- Active pharmacy technician license with the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy
- Certified Pharmacy Technician is required (PTCB/NHA)
- Strong pharmacological knowledge and high attention to detail
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Prior experience in a compounding pharmacy (preferred)
