About the Role
Capstone Health, LLC dba Capstone Vital Care is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join our home infusion pharmacy team. This role is responsible for supporting the safe and accurate preparation of sterile medications for patients receiving infusion therapy in the home setting.
The Compounding Pharmacy Technician will assist with sterile compounding, clean room maintenance, inventory management, supply kit assembly, patient documentation, and delivery preparation. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow established procedures, and a commitment to patient safety, compliance, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
The Compounding Pharmacy Technician will:
- Accurately compound sterile medications in accordance with USP <797>, USP <800>, company policies, and regulatory standards.
- Follow proper aseptic technique, including handwashing, garbing, cleaning, and maintaining sterility within the clean room environment.
- Complete required documentation for compounded products, including ingredients, lot numbers, quantities, expiration dates, and required logs.
- Complete documentation in Simplifi <797>.
- Participate in environmental monitoring, cleaning tasks, and equipment checks as required.
- Maintain clean room and anteroom cleanliness and restock supplies as needed.
- Properly handle and store compounded medications, raw materials, and supplies.
- Assist with inventory management and maintain accuracy within the Orlando Kit Inventory Management system.
- Build accurate and complete supply kits based on patient needs and inventory levels.
- Prepare medication deliveries and assist with supply picking and delivery preparation.
- Scan, upload, organize, and file patient documentation and chart materials in a timely manner.
- Communicate inventory concerns, order discrepancies, or supply shortages to the appropriate team members.
- Support pharmacy operations by assisting pharmacists and team members with order preparation, workflow tasks, lab follow-up, and other duties as needed.
- Maintain a strong focus on patient and staff safety by following all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Registered and in good standing as a Pharmacy Technician with the Florida Board of Pharmacy.
- Minimum of 1 year of IV compounding experience or completion of a compounding technician training program.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification.
- Experience in a healthcare environment.
- Background in home infusion, hospital IV room, or specialty pharmacy.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to work in a controlled environment with limited exposure to hazardous substances while following all safety protocols.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds; may occasionally be required to lift cases of IV fluids or enteral feedings.
- Ability to work in an environment where latex may be present.
- Ability to use computers and related equipment, including data entry and label preparation.
