We are seeking a dedicated Flavor Compounding Technician with experience in blending, mixing, and compounding chemicals as well as batch making. The role involves accurately preparing, batching, and blending flavor and extract formulations according to approved formulas and production schedules. The technician ensures product quality, consistency, and compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Accurately weigh, measure, and mix raw ingredients following established formulas and batch sheets.
• Operate mixing, blending, and batching equipment safely and efficiently.
• Verify ingredient identity, lot numbers, and quantities prior to use.
• Monitor batches during production to ensure consistency, texture, flavor, and appearance.
• Submit samples to Quality Control for testing.
• Filter batches and ingredients as required.
• Perform in-process quality checks and document results.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and food safety guidelines at all times.
• Maintain clean, sanitary, and organized work areas, including proper cleaning and sanitation of equipment.
• Report deviations, equipment issues, or quality concerns to supervisors promptly.
• Assist with inventory tracking of raw materials and finished compounds.
• Other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or food science training preferred.
• 1-3 years experience in flavor, food or beverage manufacturing, compounding, or batching preferred.
• Ability to read and follow detailed formulas, SOPs, and batch records.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic math skills for measurements and conversions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, and food safety regulations is a plus.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50+ pounds.
• Ability to work in environments with temperature variations, noise, food ingredients, and some exposure to odors and chemicals.

Work Environment

The position operates within a manufacturing environment in a small company comprising 14 people. The work setting involves strong scents as the company specializes in creating flavors. Employees are treated like family in this close-knit company culture.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Belcamp, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
