Responsible for all operations related to financial activities, including cost reporting, accounts receivable and payable, payroll, and auditing. Trains and supervises department staff; develops and initiates systems, policies, and procedures for transacting of financial matters. Ensures that financial systems are accurate, efficient, and in accordance with professional accounting practices and governmental regulations.
Responsibilities and Duties
Responsible for assisting in the financial accountability of the assigned area.
Responsible for grant management to include grant application, budget, invoicing and required reporting
Responsible to develop and initiate systems, policies, and procedures for transacting financial matters.
Responsible for the preparation of monthly financial reports.
Responsible for maintaining systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data.
Responsible for the compliance of statutory, regulatory, and other financial requirements of local, state and federal governments and other funding agencies.
Evaluate and submit recommendations in the selection of contractual agreements for the provision of patient services.
Responsible for the development of departmental budget justifications.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Working knowledge of the generally accepted accounting policies and procedures, patient financial service principles and fundamentals, budgeting, record keeping and business writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Knowledge of administrative and management principles in the supervision, delegation and evaluation of assigned personnel.
Ability to exercise judgment in unusual or stressful situations.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally an in writing.
Bilingual English/Spanish.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
Required Experience
Five years of experience in accounting of non-profit, governmental, and/or health care organization.
Two years general office experience preferred.
