Are you the one we’re looking for?

Do you enjoy turning a print into a perfect part? Can you move from setup to first article to steady production while keeping a sharp eye on quality? If you like working hands-on with CNC lathes, mills, and grinders—and teaming up to solve problems quickly—you’ll feel right at home here.

  • Load/unload parts and verify conformance using micrometers, calipers, indicators, bore/plug gauges, and height stands (with supervision as needed).
  • Run manual operations (e.g., drill press); deburr parts; install/remove bushings and pins using a hand press.
  • Replace dull tooling; adjust cutters; apply cutting fluids; and use proper metal removal methods to optimize chip control and material yield.
  • Meet or exceed setup and production targets; complete documentation and write concise shift-handoff notes for the next team.
  • Maintain 5S, follow ISO procedures and HR policies, and model Ingersoll Rand values daily.
  • Partner with Machinist II/III; participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • High school diploma or GED (technical coursework a plus).
  • 1+ year machining experience or Technical College equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, blueprints, drawings, gauges, memos, and procedures.
  • Clear verbal communication in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Shop math proficiency with fractions, decimals, ratios, and percentages; calculator proficient.
  • Comfort with basic hand tools and safe lifting up to 35 lbs; follows detailed instructions and solves problems with a few variables in standardized situations.
  • Self-driven, adaptable, collaborative, and committed to continuous learning.

Safety first

  • OSHA-approved safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear required.
  • Before assignment: training in hazard communication, fire safety, PPE, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
