ASRC Federal InuTeq is seeking an on-site Control Room Analyst in Mountainview, CA to support the NASA Advanced Supercomputing (NAS) facility, home to some of the world's fastest supercomputers, including Athena, Aitken, Cabeus, and Electra. This entry-level role is designed to help you grow your Linux and technical skillset while working alongside experienced engineers supporting mission-critical HPC NASA operations.This is a 24/7 operations role, and candidates must be flexible to work 2nd shift (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM), 3rd shift (10:00 PM - 6:30 AM), or other assigned schedules. Monitor and operate high performance computing (HPC) systems and supporting infrastructureProvide first-level technical support and issue resolution for NAS usersPerform system monitoring, triage issues, and escalate to appropriate support teamsExecute basic system administration tasks and user account managementTroubleshoot system issues and perform initial analysisDevelop scripts and tools to automate repetitive operational tasksCommunicate system status and issues with operations and engineering teamsConduct physical inspections of computing systems across multiple facilitiesManage tape library media and storage operations
Basic Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship required; must be able to pass NASA background checksOne of the following:High School Diploma + 3 years relevant experience, ORAssociate's Degree (technical field preferred) + 0-1 year experience, ORBachelor's Degree in a technical or natural science fieldFoundational IT knowledge through education or experienceStrong customer service skills in a technical environmentExcellent communication and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work in a 24/7/365 shift-based environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related fieldExperience with Linux command line or Linux certificationsProgramming or scripting experience (e.g., Python, Bash, C, C++, Java, Perl, Ruby, Fortran)Prior help desk or technical support experience
