Description

The Department of Mathematics, Computer Science and Data Science at the University of Mount Union invites applications for an Adjunct Faculty position in Computer Science and Data Science for the Spring 2027 semester.

Responsibilities

The department seeks a dedicated educator with a passion for undergraduate teaching and the ability to contribute to our growing programs in computer science, data science, and artificial intelligence. The successful candidate will teach one or more courses based on departmental needs and applicant qualifications. Potential teaching assignments may include:

• CSC 105 Introduction to Linux
• CSC 112 Introduction to Computer Science
• CSC 385 Using AI in Software Development
• CSC 482 Advanced Artificial Intelligence Systems
• DSC 230 Advanced Data Visualization
• DSC 360 Big Data Analytics

Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and an enthusiasm for engaging undergraduate students in computing, data science, and emerging technologies. Courses will be delivered in person on the University of Mount Union campus in Alliance, Ohio.

Qualifications

A masters degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field is required. Professional experience in computing, analytics, software development, artificial intelligence, or related industries is highly desirable.
