Job Description

 

Computer Technician

 

Job Summary:

To support student and staff with technology and to diagnosis repair, maintain and upgrade computers and peripherals. This position will include tech responsibilities for both PEARL and the K-12 programs on campus.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Receive, act and follow-up on staff technology requests through email or other communication
  2. Support requests for assistance through troubleshooting, maintaining and upgrading desktop/laptop computers and peripherals
  3. Install, upgrade and maintain software
  4. Maintain staff/student accounts. Establish staff/student folders with appropriate permissions.
  5. Maintenance and upkeep of the district computer labs
  6. Develop and maintain district inventory of computer-related materials and equipment
  7. Inventory server room equipment and maintain space
  8. Works collaboratively with the OESD technicians
  9. Member of District Technology Team
  10. Other related duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Previous experience working with computers. A+ Certification preferred.
  3. Knowledge of computer software to used, including work processing skills.
  4. Ability to communicate instructional skills
  5. Ability to work within assigned guidelines with minimal supervision.
  6. Ability to identify hardware and software problems and troubleshoot.
  7. Organizational skills
  8. Ability to maintain confidentiality
  9. Ability to work effectively under pressure and stress
  10. Ability to move or carry objects weighing over 50 pounds
  11. Ability to crouch, crawl, bend, or kneel to service computers and equipment.
