About This Role: A Concierge & Event Specialist at Visit Fort Collins serves as the ultimate ambassador for the community — bringing together the best of two worlds. Like the celebrated concierges at Disney and The Ritz-Carlton, they lead with meticulous attention to detail and a genuine ability to anticipate guests' needs, ensuring every visitor interaction feels personalized and memorable.

That same dedication carries seamlessly into event facilitation. Like skilled professionals behind the scenes of a Broadway production, our Concierge & Event Specialists ensure every element of an event runs seamlessly — from precise setups and A/V troubleshooting to vendor communication and on-site logistics. Whether welcoming a first-time visitor or supporting a large conference, this role is defined by one consistent standard: exceptional, proactive service that showcases Fort Collins as a premier destination for travelers and gatherings alike.

This position requires a flexible, highly variable schedule—including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation:
$18-22/hr
Hours: Varies; Part-time (15-20 weekly hours) 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
In this role, you'll seamlessly move between welcoming visitors and supporting events — often in the same shift.
Visitor Services:
  • Welcome every guest with exceptional, personalized customer service, including phone inquiries
  • Curate itineraries and provide resources on Fort Collins activities, shops, museums, restaurants, and outdoor experiences
  • Proactively research community events, hidden gems, and seasonal activities to share with visitors
  • Promote and support on- and off-site special events, mixers, and sports tournaments
  • Capture visitor information and statistics to support marketing and outreach efforts
  • Process gift card transactions for the Downtown Development Authority, driving sales for downtown retailers and restaurants
  • Keep all displays and supplies stocked, organized, and visually appealing
  • Assist guests with hotel, restaurant, recreational, and other online booking reservations
  • Share a genuine enthusiasm for everything that makes Fort Collins and Colorado great places to visit, work, and live
  • Other duties as assigned
Event Services:
  • Assist with event setups, including furniture arrangement, staging, and equipment placement
  • Operate and troubleshoot audiovisual (A/V) systems during events
  • Follow event logistics set by the Events Coordinator and/or Welcome Center Manager to ensure smooth execution
  • Handle event teardowns and reset the Welcome Center to "show ready" condition for the next day
  • Communicate professionally with vendors, partners, event organizers, and conference planners to meet all event needs
  • Provide real-time, day-of support to address on-site issues as they arise
  • Promote Visit Fort Collins events and initiatives to boost community engagement and visitor participation
  • Other duties as assigned

Necessary Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in marketing, sales, business, hospitality, or event management
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent job experience is preferred but not required.
  • Entry to two years of experience in a visitor/customer service role in the tourism, hospitality, event industry, Food & Beverage, or retail is preferred.
  • Specialized Customer service or event management training ​is preferred.
  • Visit Fort Collins Training to be completed within 30 days of hire date.

Special Skills for Success:
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.Excellent customer service skills and the ability to assist guests in person as well as on the phone.
  • Proficient in using a tablet/computer, sales tools, CRM systems, Zoom and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, administrative tasks, and event facilitation.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of the local community, the local tourism industry and familiarity with sales techniques and practices is an asset. The same applies to state knowledge and the ability to find the information for any guest request.
