Concord Youth Development Professional Lead

Job Summary:
The Youth Development Professional Lead is accountable for implementing high-quality youth programs and activities while building strong, positive relationships with members. This role supports youth engagement, safety, and behavior expectations, manages assigned program spaces, and ensures accurate attendance and reporting. Youth Development Professionals model positive behavior, foster belonging, and create experiences that support youth development outcomes.
 
Hours & Schedule
  • Part-time position, 20 hours per week
  • Monday through Friday 2:00pm-6:00pm
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
Program Implementation
  • Implement engaging, age-appropriate programs and activities aligned with Club priorities and youth development outcomes.
  • Prepare program spaces, materials, and supplies to support daily activities.
  • Support planned activities, theme weeks, and enrichment opportunities as directed.
  • Follow program plans and guidance provided by Program Supervisors.
  • Lead YDP staff to ensure program and staff expectations are met.

Youth Engagement & Relationships
  • Build positive, respectful relationships with members that promote belonging and engagement.
  • Use youth development strategies to support confidence, social-emotional growth, and positive identity.
  • Model character, responsibility, and ethical behavior in daily interactions.
  • Support a culture of respect, inclusion, and trust within program spaces.

Safety & Behavior Management
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming program environment at all times.
  • Ensure members understand and follow behavioral expectations.
  • Respond to behavior concerns using developmentally appropriate and trauma-informed practices.
  • Communicate incidents, concerns, or safety issues promptly to supervisors.

Program Space Management
  • Keep assigned program areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Set up, maintain, and break down program spaces as needed.
  • Ensure proper use and care of equipment and materials.
  • Support smooth transitions between activities and program areas.

Attendance & Reporting
  • Accurately record daily attendance and participation data as required.
  • Support basic documentation related to incidents or program activities.
  • Complete assigned administrative tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
 
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Bilingual Preferred
  • Demonstrated competence working with school-age youth (ages 5-18).
  • Minimum of one year of experience supervising youth in a group setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive, professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with high level of responsibility and accountability.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 20 lbs and extended periods of standing or sitting.
