Position Overview
A growing construction organization is seeking a skilled Concrete Estimator to join their team in Reno, NV. This role is responsible for managing the full estimating process for concrete scopes — from takeoffs and pricing to bid strategy and project handoff.

Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Takeoffs
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications
- Develop estimates for:
- Foundations
- Footings
- Slabs
- Walls
- Grade beams
- Elevated decks
- Formwork
- Rebar
- Finishing and curing
- Review plans for constructability, sequencing, and potential project challenges
- Identify scope gaps, inconsistencies, and risk areas early in the bid process
Pricing & Bid Development
- Build competitive pricing using:
- Historical cost data
- Production rates
- Vendor and subcontractor pricing
- Market conditions
- Solicit and level subcontractor/vendor bids
- Support bid strategy through:
- RFIs
- Clarifications
- Value engineering
- Alternate pricing
Project Handoff & Collaboration
- Prepare organized turnover packages for operations teams
- Clearly document:
- Scope assumptions
- Exclusions
- Quantities
- Vendor commitments
- Partner with project teams to compare estimated vs. actual costs and improve future estimate accuracy
Process Improvement
- Help improve estimating workflows, templates, and systems
- Contribute to consistency, efficiency, and scalability across projects
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of estimating experience within concrete construction or related heavy concrete scopes
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Understanding of:
- Concrete sequencing
- Formwork and rebar coordination
- Placement logistics
- Production impacts on cost
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
Preferred
- Experience estimating structural concrete scopes
- Commercial, industrial, or infrastructure project experience
- Knowledge of cost tracking and estimate vs. actual analysis
- Experience participating in site walks and constructability reviews

Compensation
- $70,000 – $95,000: Mid-Level Estimator
- $95,000 – $120,000: Senior-Level Estimator
Compensation is flexible based on experience, technical ability, and independent bid ownership experience.
