We are seeking a dependable and experienced Concrete Finisher to join our construction team. The Concrete Finisher will be responsible for placing, finishing, protecting, and repairing concrete on a variety of projects including roads, sidewalks, curbs, foundations, slabs, and other concrete structures. This position requires physical labor, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in outdoor environments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Set forms that hold concrete to desired pitch and depth.
- Pour, spread, and level concrete using rakes, shovels, hand tools, and power tools.
- Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete using floats, trowels, and screeds.
- Operate power vibrators to compact concrete.
- Apply finishing techniques including broom finish, edging, and joint cutting.
- Monitor curing process and apply curing compounds as needed.
- Repair and patch damaged concrete surfaces.
- Read and interpret blueprints, measurements, and project specifications.
- Ensure work is completed according to quality and safety standards.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
- Work closely with supervisors, equipment operators, and labor crews.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
Qualifications - Previous experience as a concrete finisher or related construction experience preferred.
- Knowledge of concrete finishing techniques, materials, and tools.
- Ability to read measurements and construction plans.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and finishing equipment safely.
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship.
- Reliable transportation and attendance.
- Ability to work flexible hours including overtime when needed.
Physical Requirements - Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, climb, and work in physically demanding conditions for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, and rain.
- Must be able to wear required PPE including hard hat, gloves, safety vest, and work boots.
Work Environment - Outdoor construction and roadway environments.
- Exposure to dust, noise, heavy equipment, and changing weather conditions.
