Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Concrete Finishers for a project located in Santa Monica, CA. This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is $25-$28/hour based on experience and skill level. Job Scope:
Remove existing balcony tile surface (if not already done)
Clear debris, thinset, and prep for sound testing
Perform sound checks to identify hollow/delaminated concrete areas
Mark and square-cut each spall (~½" depth) using grinders/saws
Chip out loose concrete, clean area thoroughly
Remove dust, debris, and rust from exposed rebar
Hand-mix and pour repair mortar (e.g., Seeka), apply bonding agent if needed
Finish patched area flush with slab using hand tools
Apply polyurethane base coat (e.g., Seeka Mastic C25) after concrete cure
Embed reinforcing fabric into wet base coat
Broadcast sand for grout adhesion
Apply top coat after base layer with fabric has cured
Grout over sand-broadcasted waterproofed surface
Prep and paint adjacent surfaces (walls, ceilings, balcony edges, undersides) with exterior-grade paint
Remove deteriorated caulking
Apply high-performance exterior-grade sealant around windows and control joints
Must have experience with balcony restoration, spall repair, and waterproofing systems
Comfortable using swing stages and transferring between them
Not afraid of heights and must always use fall protection
