Concrete Finisher - Straight Edge

Key Responsibilities:

• Guide and control the straight edge, screed, or float to achieve a flat, even, and properly graded concrete surface

• Spread and strike off concrete to specified thickness and elevation

• Maintain alignment with 12 Inch Straight Edge, forms, and project plans

• Apply finishing techniques including smooth, broom, or specified surface finishes

• Edge concrete surfaces along forms, curbs, and transitions for clean lines

• Identify and correct surface defects such as low spots, cracks, or voids

• Patch and repair concrete surfaces using appropriate materials and tools

• Follow all Weaver-Bailey safety standards and jobsite procedures

• Maintain tools, equipment, and clean work areas

• All candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening. Testing requirements may be Non-DOT or DOT regulated depending on the position applied for.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience in concrete straight edge finishing in Civil Construction
• Knowledge of concrete placement, screeding, and finishing techniques
• Ability to read a tape measure and follow grade/alignment instructions
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions
• Physical ability to lift, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to job sites as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience operating screeds, floats, and power finishing equipment.
• Valid Driver's License
• Ability to read blueprints and grade stakes.
• 5+ years of experience in concrete straight edge finishing in Civil Construction
