Description
The Concrete Laborer will perform many tasks that require physical labor on construction sites in all types of weather. As a concrete laborer you will ensure concrete is poured correctly through accurate placement on-site with various forms needed on the construction site.
Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)
Assist in building and positioning forms for pouring concrete and dismantles forms after
use, using saws, hammers, nails, bolts or form hardware.
Dig ditches and levels earth to grade specifications, using pick, shovels and rakes.
Grade dirt and concrete efficiently and accurately.
Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, braces, and other temporary structures.
Mix concrete and mortar.
Clean construction site to eliminate possible hazards.
Assist to align, straighten, plumb and square forms for installation.
Construct forms, then assist in raising them to the required elevation.
Install and tie rebar and wire mesh.
Install handrails.
Requirements:
High school diploma or General Education Degree.
1 + years of concrete or skilled labor experience preferred.
Experience with concrete form setting or construction is required.
Knowledge of standard construction equipment and materials.
Proficiency with industry hand and power tools, including saws.
Physical ability to perform manual labor.
Basic math skills.
Work is performed in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements.
Functions essential to this position include but are not limited to standing, sitting, stooping, bending, walking and lifting heavy objects (50 pounds) during the workday.
