Concrete Materials QA/QC Technician

Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Concrete Materials QA/QC Technician for a local company in the Corsicana, TX area. If you love turning data from the field and lab into better concrete on the ground, this role is for you.

A day in the life

Your shift kicks off at 6:00 AM. You move from the lab bench to the production floor and back again—validating materials, checking mixes, and documenting every result. Mid-morning, you’re running gradations and moisture checks on aggregates and verifying specific gravity. By early afternoon, you’re performing plastic concrete tests per ACI/ASTM methods and setting up strength tests for hardened samples. As panels are prepared, you complete Pre-Pour inspections on precast/prestressed units and confirm post‑tensioning and pre‑tensioning cables are correctly installed. After the pour, you return for Post‑Pour inspections, capture measurements, read your tape, and log results. Whenever something is off, you flag the nonconformance, communicate with production, and help drive corrective actions. Throughout, you keep accurate records—clean, traceable, complete.

Schedule & location

• Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM
• Corsicana, TX area

What you’ll do

• Run basic aggregate tests including gradations, moisture, specific gravity, and related measures.
• Perform field and lab testing on fresh and hardened concrete (plastic concrete tests, ACI/ASTM procedures, and strength tests).
• Assist in reviewing and verifying concrete mix designs for both structural and architectural applications.
• Conduct Pre‑Pour and Post‑Pour inspections on precast/prestressed panels.
• Inspect and verify post‑tensioning and pre‑tensioning cables.
• Monitor in‑process quality and report any nonconformances.
• Maintain precise testing records and documentation.
• Communicate quality issues to production teams and support corrective actions.

What you bring

• Hands‑on experience in concrete, aggregates, precast, prestressed, or ready‑mix operations.
• Capability to perform aggregate testing (gradations, moisture, density, etc.).
• Proficiency with concrete field and laboratory testing, including plastic concrete tests, ACI/ASTM testing, and strength testing.
• Ability to read, understand, and verify mix designs.
• Experience conducting Pre‑Pour and Post‑Pour inspections.
• Familiarity with post‑tensioning and pre‑tensioning cable verification.
• Skill in identifying and documenting quality issues and nonconformances.
• Clear communication and basic computer/documentation skills.
• Comfort working both indoors and outdoors around active production.
