    Position Summary

    Concrete mixer driver safely transports and delivers ready-mix concrete from a batch plant to construction sites. Key responsibilities include operating the mixing drum, pouring concrete safely on-site, and performing vehicle inspections.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Drive heavy commercial trucks safely to and from job sites following local traffic laws and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
    • Control the revolving drum to mix and maintain the concrete at the correct consistency (slump) during transit and delivery.
    • Maneuver the truck on uneven or tight job site terrain, set up extension chutes (weighing 35-50 lbs), and discharge the concrete according to customer requests.
    • Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections, log hours properly, and wash down the truck after every load to prevent concrete hardening.

    Job Requirements and Qualifications

    • Valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL Class A or Class B).
    • Pass a DOT physical examination, drug and alcohol screenings, and maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
    • Ability to lift heavy objects (50 lbs occasionally), climb ladders and truck steps, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
