The Drilling Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing field operations related to steel conductor installation, drill site preparation, and annular cementing support for well completions. This role leads crews operating auger rigs to install conductors and manages cementing operations using batch mixers and dry bulk trailers. The Supervisor coordinates all supporting activities including crane operations, welding, and dirt work, ensuring all work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise daily operations for auger rig conductor installation
Oversee installation of steel conductors to required depth, alignment, and specification
Coordinate crane operations, rigging, and casing placement
Direct and monitor welding, pipe fitting, and oxy-acetylene work
Manage annular cementing operations for well completions, including operation and oversight of batch mixers and dry bulk trailers; cement slurry mixing, placement, and volume control; and coordination of cementing crews and equipment
Oversee drill pad construction, dirt work, grading, and site preparation
Coordinate and manage third-party contractors to ensure performance and compliance
Develop and maintain daily and weekly schedules for crews, equipment, and materials
Ensure proper use and maintenance of hand tools, auger rigs, and support equipment
Conduct safety meetings, job hazard analyses, and site inspections
Enforce company and client safety policies and job site standards
Communicate daily progress, issues, and planning updates to management and clients
Troubleshoot field issues related to ground conditions, alignment, cementing operations, equipment, and installation
Minimum Qualifications & Education:
5+ years of experience in conductor installation, cementing operations, drilling support, or heavy civil work
Proven ability to coordinate multiple crews and contractors simultaneously
Strong understanding of general job site safety practices
Ability to read and interpret site plans, layouts, and specifications
Valid driver's license (CDL preferred)
Work Environment:
This position will include office work, but some work will be performed in all-weather conditions outdoors
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds
Must work in compliance with the Florence Copper's site safety program
