Position Overview: Do you like to tell stories? Can you guide and nurture ideas into becoming meaningful and memorable in-person experiences? We are seeking an individual with proven experience in research, business writing, and project management who will research, develop, and run educational conferences for the Life Sciences sector. While the role is remote, travel is required to attend and manage in-person conferences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Industry Research & Content Development: Conduct research to identify emerging trends and industry needs. Develop conference themes, session topics, and agendas. Maintain essential notes and speaker details in the CRM.
- Speaker & Stakeholder Engagement: Recruit thought leaders and manage ongoing communication with speakers, sponsors, and key participants. Ensure timely submission of presentation materials.
- Marketing & Copywriting: Draft and edit collateral, messaging, and copy for marketing to drive event success.
- Project Management: Lead conference team meetings and collaborate across departments (marketing, sales, operations) to ensure seamless execution.
- On-Site Leadership & Logistics: Travel to conferences to provide on-site leadership. Manage speaker coordination, attendee engagement, and troubleshoot challenges to ensure a smooth event experience.
- Post-Event Analysis: Gather feedback from stakeholders to evaluate success and provide recommendations for future event growth.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: 1–3 years of professional experience in conference production, recruitment, or research.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or a related field required.
- Software Proficiency: Tech-savvy and proficient in Salesforce, LinkedIn, and Microsoft Office 365.
- Physical: Ability to stand and move for long periods (8+ hours) during live event days.
- Travel: Willingness to travel to all assigned conferences, arriving prior to the event and remaining through its conclusion.
Preferred Skills:
- Public Speaking: Comfortable moderating panels or delivering introductions.
- In-Depth Research: Strong interviewing skills to extract technical insights from industry experts.
- Dynamic Networking: Ability to build rapport with C-suite executives and life science professionals.
