Description

Configuration Technician
Pay Rate: $18.50-18.75/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM
Location: Paulsboro, NJ (onsite)
Duration: 3-Month Temp-to-Hire

Position Overview

We are seeking a Configuration Technician to support the refurbishment, configuration, and preparation of client-owned IT equipment. This role involves running diagnostic and drive-wiping software, installing and uninstalling software, performing quality inspections, and preparing equipment for shipment in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install company logos, images, and software on computers and laptops.
  • Install and uninstall software applications according to customer specifications.
  • Run diagnostic and drive-wiping software on computers and related hardware.
  • Perform visual inspections to ensure devices meet customer cosmetic and quality standards.
  • Clean and prepare equipment prior to packaging and shipment.
  • Unpack, configure, and install CPUs and related hardware.
  • Pull equipment from inventory and prepare it for shipment.
  • Complete physical and systematic inventory of customer equipment.
  • Accurately complete all required documentation, including quality assurance reports.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment using established procedures and problem-solving techniques.
  • Escalate issues that do not respond to standard procedures.
  • Work with Lead Technicians to resolve more complex technical issues.
  • Maintain compliance with departmental training and certification requirements.

Requirements

  • Drug and Background screening
  • Reliable transportation
  • 1–3 years of computer technician or related IT experience.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work in a high-production environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
