PGS Worldwide is seeking a Configuration Analyst in Sterling Heights, MI for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Configuration Analyst will support hardware configuration management activities related to the design, development, and production of complex defense systems. This role requires PDM or PLM database experience, strong MS Office skills, attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to support technical data packages, configuration audits, and change management processes.

Required Skills

  • Technical associate degree or 4+ years of configuration management experience.
  • 2+ years of related work experience.
  • Experience using a Product Data Management or Product Lifecycle Management database.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills for preparing metrics, reports, and documents.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Sound interpersonal skills for coordinating with internal personnel, customers, and suppliers.
  • Ability to support hardware configuration management activities.
  • Ability to manage changes to approved configurations using a systematic change process.
  • Ability to support engineering technical data package maintenance.
  • Ability to support configuration management and quality audits.
  • Ability to develop solutions to moderately complex problems using company policies and procedures.

Preferred Skills

  • STEM bachelor's degree or 8+ years of configuration management experience.
  • DoD experience.
  • PTC Windchill experience.
  • Experience applying industry standards and meeting government requirements.
  • General knowledge of configuration management and design engineering standards, including MIL-HDBK-61A, MIL-STD-31000, EIA-649, ASME Y14.24, or ASME Y14.100.
  • Formal Configuration Data Management training.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas.
  • Experience managing BOM structures.
  • Familiarity with CMMI requirements.

What You'll Do

  • Perform hardware configuration management activities for complex defense systems.
  • Manage changes to approved configurations using a systematic, measurable change process.
  • Support delivery and maintenance of engineering technical data packages.
  • Apply configuration management processes in accordance with program CM plans.
  • Support configuration management and quality audits.
  • Develop solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Use company policies and procedures to guide configuration management decisions.
  • Prepare metrics, reports, and technical documents.
  • Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, customers, suppliers, and other internal teams.
  • Support accurate configuration records, workflow activity, and program documentation.

Work Schedule / Shift

  • 9/80 schedule.
  • Typical start time is 7:30 AM.
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • No overtime expected.
  • No travel required.

Pay

  • $45.46/hour
