    ASRC Federal Advanced Research LLC (AFAR) is seeking an experienced Configuration Management Specialist to join our Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) team to support engineers with the development and maintenance of baseline artifacts for the WAAS system. This is a full-time on-site position at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC) in Oklahoma City, OK.

    WAAS is a satellite navigation aid developed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to augment the Global Positioning System (GPS), with the goal of improving its accuracy, integrity, and availability. This Configuration Management (CM) position supports the engineering team by maintaining the System documentation and Software Builds, tracking all changes and updates throughout the WAAS maintenance update and upgrade cycles.

    Citizenship Requirement

    All candidates must have the following to pass the Federal Background Investigation and obtain the FAA Public Trust security clearance.

    • Be a US Citizen.
    • Have resided in the US for three (3) consecutive years.
    • RealID Driver's License/ID or current US Passport.

    Relocation Requirement

    Candidate must reside or be willing to relocate within a commutable distance to Oklahoma City, OK.

    Education & Experience Requirement

    • Bachelor Degree preferred.
    • An associate degree or high school diploma may be substituted depending on experience.
    • Six (6) to nine (9) years of related work experience. Other levels may be accepted for the right candidate.

    Required Skills

    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
    • Ability to:
    • Work independently, as well as a team.
    • Multi-task across teams in a structured environment.
    • Research and problem solve; willingness to learn/try new things
    • Communicate effectively through verbal and written communication; including developing technical documentation.

    Preferred Skills

    • Familiarity with RTCA/DO-178B is preferred.
    • Experience using IBM ClearCase, ClearQuest, and DOORS, and experience in system configuration management is desired.
    • Strong background in industry Configuration Management best practices is desired.

    Essential Daily Job Duties

    • Develop and implement configuration management plans, processes, standards, and procedures

    • Recommend CM solutions to meet both short‑ and long‑term program needs

    • Manage changes to the WAAS baseline and maintain the Product Baseline Listing Index (PBLI)

    • Produce required software release documentation, including SRRs and SAS

    • Facilitate WAAS Change Review Board meetings and decision processes

    • Serve as CM Coordinator for case files within the FAA's CMA tool

    • Provide publishing support for technical handbooks, system support modification documents, and engineering documentation packages

    • Deliver training, support, and administration for IBM Rational DOORS while assisting with DO‑178B compliance and process improvements
