The Configurations Engineer is responsible to generate BOMs, BOM change notices and help control customer TDPs (Technical Data Packages).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and generates of Bills of Material (BOM) from customer supplied parts list and print packages on solicitations and jobs(work orders)
  • Manages and controls organized filing system for all print packages, properly stores and archives all electronic documents on network server
  • Prioritizes and incorporates customer(both internal and external) changes related BOM change requests
  • Monitors and initiates the BOM change notification processing
  • Manage and maintain catalog index of purchased external specifications  
  • Fulfills requests related to document distribution
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical design Engineering, business, manufacturing technology, accounting or IS, preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience reading and interpreting engineering documents and drawings
  • Ability to utilize rule-based logic to convert parts lists to BOMs
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to determine priorities and provide direction to fellow team members
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
