PGS Worldwide is seeking a Conformal Coating Assembler in Oldsmar, FL for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Conformal Coating Assembler will operate dispensing and coating equipment, mask and tape circuit boards, inspect coating coverage, perform manual touch-up, and support potting, bonding, coating, encapsulation, and finishing processes for electronic assemblies. This 1st shift role requires attention to detail, the ability to read and write English, and the ability to pass a required medical exam.
Required Skills
- Assembly, coating, paint process, manufacturing, or electronic production experience.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to pass a required medical exam.
- Ability to operate dispensing and coating machines.
- Ability to mask and tape circuit boards in areas that must remain free of conformal coating or potting.
- Ability to inspect assemblies for proper coating coverage.
- Ability to remove excess coating and perform manual touch-up.
- Ability to work with chemicals, solvents, compounds, process fluids, coatings, bonding materials, and potting materials.
- Ability to follow customer specifications, work instructions, and safety requirements.
- Ability to transport racks of circuit boards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Ability to perform general housekeeping to maintain a safe and clean work area.
Preferred Skills
- Conformal coating experience.
- Potting, bonding, encapsulation, or finishing process experience.
- Paint process, paint systems, or coating materials experience.
- Basic computer skills.
- Experience maintaining coating, dispensing, or production equipment.
- Experience replenishing chemicals, solvents, compounds, or process fluids.
- Experience working with circuit boards, electronic assemblies, or high-reliability manufacturing.
What You’ll Do
- Operate dispensing and coating machines to meet customer specifications.
- Mask and tape circuit boards before coating or potting.
- Inspect assemblies to confirm proper coating coverage.
- Remove excess coating and manually touch up missed areas.
- Maintain coating and dispensing machines in proper operating condition.
- Change fluids and mixers and clean machines as needed.
- Encapsulate discrete assemblies.
- Prepare and apply potting, bonding, coating compounds, lubricants, spray coats, or insulated tape to components and assemblies.
- Replenish chemicals, solvents, compounds, and process fluids as required.
- Dispense materials into secondary containers and perform chemical cleaning.
- Transport product, material, tools, and circuit board racks throughout the manufacturing process.
- Complete applicable specific function training courses.
- Support additional production tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Work Schedule / Shift
- 1st shift.
- Monday–Thursday, 5:00 AM–3:30 PM.
- Full-time schedule.
- Overtime expected as needed.
