PGS Worldwide is seeking a Conformal Coating Technician in Oldsmar, Florida for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position supports coating operations on printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies in a production environment. The role focuses on masking, coating application, inspection, curing, rework, and maintaining quality standards while working safely with coating materials and equipment.

Required Skills

  • Ability to mask and prepare components that must remain free of coating
  • Ability to apply coating using spray guns, brushes, or dipping processes
  • Ability to inspect coating coverage for uniformity, including UV light inspection
  • Ability to operate curing ovens and repair coating defects
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong hand dexterity
  • Familiarity with chemical safety and MSDS
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Ability to pass a required medical exam

Preferred Skills

  • Previous electronics assembly experience
  • Previous conformal coating experience
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 standards
  • IPC-A-610 certification
  • Experience operating automated, computer-controlled conformal coating equipment such as PVA machines
  • Experience with PCB coating rework and touch-up
  • Experience in wet process work such as plating

What You’ll Do

  • Mask connectors, switches, and other components that must remain free of coating
  • Apply conformal coating to PCBs and assemblies using manual and automated methods
  • Inspect coated assemblies to verify proper and uniform coverage
  • Use UV light inspection to identify defects and verify workmanship
  • Operate curing ovens and perform coating rework or touch-up as needed
  • Support coating operations on electronic assemblies in a production environment
  • Follow chemical safety requirements and established quality standards

Work Schedule / Shift

  • Monday through Thursday, 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM EST
