Job Summary
The Conservatory of Music at Oberlin College invites applications for a 12-month, full-time Administrative and Professional Staff position as Conservatory Arts Administration Fellow.
The Conservatory Arts Administration Fellow reports to the Dean of the Conservatory and works under the supervision (as directed by the Dean) of the Associate Dean for Artistic Programming and External Relations and the Associate Dean for Academic Support.
This is a one-year position effective during the 26-27 academic year (July 1, 2026- June 30, 2027), with the possibility of a contract extension.
The Oberlin Conservatory of Music, founded in 1865, is the nation's oldest continuously operating conservatory, and the only major music school in the country linked with a preeminent liberal arts college. Students are enrolled in undergraduate programs leading to the Bachelor of Music in performance, jazz studies, composition, technology in music and related arts, recording arts and production, music theater, and musicology. Oberlin also offers graduate programs leading to the Master of Music in conducting, the Master of Music in performance on historical instruments, the Master of Fine Arts in piano technology, and artist diplomas.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Dean of the Conservatory, the Fellow will support a broad suite of artistic programs, educational residencies, alumni-engagement activities, as well as various professional-development and student-support initiatives. In so doing, the Fellow will work with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and alumni in both the Conservatory and the College of Arts and Sciences as well as visiting artists and scholars. Formally reporting to the Conservatory Dean, the Fellow will work under the direct supervision, as assigned, of the Associate Dean for Artistic Programming and External Relations, the Associate Dean for Academic Support, and others.
