Southeast General Construction, a growing and well-established construction company, is seeking an experienced
Construction Accounting Controller to oversee our accounting operations and support financial management of our construction projects.
The ideal candidate will have strong construction accounting experience, excellent organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of job costing, project financials, and accounting controls.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, account receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Manage job costing, project budgets, and cost-to-complete reporting.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, cash-flow reports, and management reports.
- Monitor project profitability, billing, retainage, and contract compliance.
- Work Closely with estimators, and senior management.
- Establish and maintain strong internal accounting controls.
- coordinate year-end financial statements, audits and tax preparation.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
5+ years of accounting experience, with construction industry experience.
Strong knowledge of construction job costing and project accounting.
Experience with construction accounting software such as QuickBooks, Viewpoint, Sage, CRE, Procore or similar systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and Financial Reporting.
Strong Analytical, communication and leadership skills.
CPA or Construction accounting certification is a plus.
