Our client, a well-established and growing general contractor specializing in water and wastewater treatment facilities, is seeking a Construction Accountant to join its corporate accounting team.

Position Summary
The Construction Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting operations of the business while partnering with project teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, job costing, and compliance.
This role offers exposure to both corporate accounting and construction operations, providing an excellent opportunity for continued professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Perform general accounting and financial reporting functions
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Review project financials and job cost reports
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial statement preparation
- Prepare and reconcile multi-state sales and use tax filings
- Maintain fleet and equipment accounting records
- Assist with audit preparation and compliance activities
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies
- Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold the highest ethical standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Four or more years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with general ledger reconciliations and month-end close
- Knowledge of federal and state tax reporting, including sales and use tax
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Construction accounting or job costing experience is preferred but not required
