Mid-sized education law firm with statewide practice representing school and community college districts seeks an attorney to join its Business, Property and Construction Law Practice Group.Candidates will be considered for the following DWK offices (Hybrid): San Francisco, Long Beach, San Diego, Sacramento, East Bay, FresnoQualified candidates will have a minimum of five years of experience, including the below qualifications:Public procurement and contract negotiation experienceExperience with and/or a willingness to learn bid packages and procurement documents, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of types of contracts, such as construction contracts, special services agreements, contracts for equipment, materials, and supplies, and agreements for professional services, such as design professionals and construction management servicesFamiliarity with bid protests, requests for substitution, stop payment notice claims, change orders, delay and cost overrun claims, payment bond issues, contract termination, and payment disputesExcellent analytical, writing, research, and communication skillsFlexibility, initiative, and willingness to learn about and work on a broad variety of legal matters arising in representing public entitiesAbility to prioritize and perform multiple tasks, with strong attention to detail and accuracyDemonstrated success working as a team player in a fast-paced environment, as well as the ability to work independentlyLitigation experience or willingness to work on litigation matters is a plusPublic entity representation is preferred but not requiredAdmission to the California State BarPursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.The anticipated annual salary wage range the Firm reasonably expects to pay candidates for this position is $140,000 to $185,000.
