We are looking for talented people to join our team that are passionate about making a difference and contributing to historical projects that will have a lasting impact on society.Job Summary:The Construction Automation Lead is responsible for the day-to-day execution, support, and supervision of Construction Automation activities on an assigned construction project. This role serves as the primary on-site delivery lead for digital tools, workflows, and system integrations supporting construction, project controls, ES&H, commissioning and startup, and turnover activities.The role combines hands-on subject matter expertise with first-line supervisory responsibility. It is focused on execution in the field, including system deployment, issue resolution, user adoption, and consistent application of approved M&T Construction Automation standards. The role works closely with project management, field supervision, contractors, clients, vendors, and corporate teams to ensure digital solutions are aligned with project needs and effectively deployed in the field.Major Responsibilities:Execute and support day-to-day Construction Automation activities in support of construction execution and field operationsServe as the primary on-site subject matter expert for Construction Automation systems, tools, and workflowsOwn the day-to-day operation and performance of Construction Automation systems supporting field executionSupport deployment, configuration, and operation of approved Construction Automation systems in alignment with M&T standardsMonitor system usage, data quality, and workflow execution and resolve issues impacting daily operationsProvide hands-on troubleshooting and operational support for site digital systems and integrationsTranslate field execution needs and requests into practical automation solutions within approved standards and configurationsSupervise and coordinate the work of Construction Automation Specialists, as assignedSupport training, onboarding, and user adoption efforts for project teams and contractorsIdentify recurring operational issues or risks and escalate systemic items as appropriateCapture site-level issues and lessons learned and provide continuous improvement recommendations to the M&T Construction Automation functionEducation and Experience Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Information Systems, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be considered. 10+ years of experience supporting construction or capital project digital systems.Required Knowledge and Skills:Hands‑on experience configuring and supporting construction automation platforms and digital workflows in an EPC or construction environmentStrong understanding of construction workflows, field execution, and site‑level data requirementsExperience supporting project controls, ES&H, quality, commissioning, and various other functions and disciplines on major capital projectsDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot system, workflow, and integration issues in active project environmentsExperience supervising and mentoring technical staff in a project settingStrong communication and coordination skills with the ability to work effectively across project management, field supervision, contractors, vendors, and client teamsAbility to translate technical requirements into practical, field‑oriented solutionsProven ability to drive user adoption and influence teams in a construction environmentAbility to prioritize and resolve issues in a fast‑paced, active construction settingPreferred / Helpful Qualifications:Experience with drone‑based construction data capture and processing workflows (e.g., Propeller, DroneDeploy)Hands‑on experience supporting or administering Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) in a project or site environmentHands‑on experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) supporting field use casesExperience with construction/project platforms such as Procore, Hexagon Smart Completions, Setroute, or equivalent systemsFamiliarity with data integration concepts between construction systems and reporting or analytics platformsExperience supporting digital tools for turnover, commissioning, or completionsPrior experience on large‑scale industrial or manufacturing construction projects (semiconductor, battery, pharmaceutical, or similar)Physical / Work Environment:Full‑time assignment at an active construction project siteSignificant time spent in field environments supporting crews directlyRequires walking, climbing, and working in outdoor conditionsMay require travel across different areas of the project siteTotal Rewards/Benefits:For decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of employees and beyond!
